FAQS

WALK-IN PROJECTS

Do I need to make an appointment to do a walk-in project?

No. You can walk-in and do a project anytime we are open. If you have a large group you can call ahead and reserve a table.

What projects can I do as a walk-in?

Ceramic Painting, Glass Fusing, Mosaics, Acrylic Painting and Clay Sculpting.

Is there a studio fee for walk-in projects?

The studio fees Friday-Sunday are $10/person for a kiln fired project or $7/person for a take home project. Studio fees Tuesday-Thursday are 1/2 off in hopes of getting people to come in during the week.

Is the studio fee per project?

The studio fee is per person per day. You can do multiple projects on one studio fee as long as you do them all in the same day. Yes…you can leave for lunch and come back.

Who doesn't have to pay studio fees?

Member’s never pay studio fees and neither do kids 3 and under.

If I choose a kiln fired project when will my project be ready for pick up?

We typically run the ceramic kiln once a week on Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday depending on how full the shelves are. We run the glass kiln as needed more often. Your project will be ready for pick up in about a week.

How long should I plan to be in the studio for a walk-in project?

Kids typically do projects faster; 1-1.5 hours would be enough time. Teens and adults typically take longer; 2-3 hours or more depending on effort.

Do you ever close early?

Yes. Last call to start a project is 1.5 hours prior to closing. If no one is in the studio 1.5 hours before closing we will close early.

What happens if I don’t finish my walk-in project?

If you don't finish your project you will need to take it home with you, this will help remind you to come back in and finish it.

Do I need to pay another studio fee if I bring in my unfinished walk-in project?

Yes but always 1/2 off.

If I come back to paint or glaze a clay project I made in a class or during a walk-in is there a studio fee?

Yes.

If I have a large group is there a discount on studio fees?

Yes. If you have a group of 8 or more (Friday-Sunday) then studio fees are $5/person on fired and unfired projects..

How long will you hold my walk-in project after its been fired and is out of the kiln?

We will text you for pick up once your project is out of the kiln. You have one month from that first text to come pick up your project. In that month we will text you once a week to remind you to pick up. If you do not pick up within that month (due to storage) we may not have your project when you do finally come in.

CLASSES

Can I drop in for a class?

No. You need to register online. We need to know how many people are coming so we can make sure we have enough supplies. We also need to be set up for the correct amount of people so that the class can start on time.

What if I can’t make it to a class I registered for?

We can’t give refunds but we can give you a credit if you let us know a week in advance. If you let us know within a week and we can fill your spot with someone on the waitlist, then you can also get a credit. You can also try to find someone to fill your spot. If you do, you just need to let us know their name so we can add them to the class list. If there is no one on the waitlist and you cannot find someone to fill your spot then the class will be forfeited due to materials having been purchase and prepped.

What if I don’t finish my project during the class?

It’s important to try to finish on time because some of the classes are taught by guest instructors. If it’s a project we do offer downstairs, you can become a Studio Member for the month to finish your project and come in to work on it whenever we are open as well as store your project between visits.

If I did a class project that needs to be fired in the kiln how long till I get my project back?

If its a clay class then 10-14 days, if its a glass class then usually within a week.

What if I really enjoyed my class and don't want to wait for the next one to do it again?

You can become a Studio Member, use the studio as your own and store your projects between visits.

TWEEN/TEEN & KIDS ART CLUBS

Can my child drop in for an Art Club Class?

No. You need to register them online. We need to know how many kids are coming so we can make sure we have enough materials. We also need to be set up for the correct amount of kids so that the class can start on time.

Do I have to purchase the entire month when signing up for an Art Club?

For our Tween/Teen Art Club you do have to purchase the whole month because we work on one project per month.

For our Kids Art Club you can choose to purchase the whole month or wait till the month opens for single class registration, typically a week prior to the first class of that month.

What if my child misses an Art Club class?

For our Tween/Teen Art Club (because we work on one project for multiple weeks) if your child misses a class you can have them come in as early as 3pm instead of 4pm the next class (as long as we are still working on the same project) to catch up. Please let us know if you plan to have them come in early so that we can be set up. If your child misses the last class of the current project and they are signing up for the next project, they will likely be able to work on it and finish in that time. If your child misses the last class of the current project and they are not signed up for the next project then you will have to contact us to schedule a make up time (there will likely be a fee as it will be considered a private class).

For our Kids Art Club (because each class is a single project) if you know your child will be missing class because of a scheduling conflict or sickness you can ask to move them to another day during the same week. If there is room we will accommodate it. If the other day the same week doesn't work and there is no one on the waitlist to take their spot then the class will be forfeited due to materials having already been purchased and prepped.

KIDS ART CAMPS

Can my child drop in for an Art Camp?

No. You need to register them online. We need to know how many kids are coming so we can make sure we have enough materials. We also need to be set up for the correct amount of kids so that the class can start on time.

Can my child do one day of a multi day camp?

No. We typically start multiple projects and work on them throughout camp, meaning the projects are not started and finished in one day.

What if my child misses a day of camp?

If they miss a day of camp then they may not be able to make all the projects listed for that camp. If they started projects that they weren't able to finish, they can be taken home and finished. If they miss the last day then their finished and/or unfinished project will be behind the register for pick up.

What if I need to cancel a camp I registered for?

We can’t give refunds but we can give you a 50% credit if you cancel a week prior to camp or 100% credit if a waitlist person or you can find someone to take your spot. No credit if you cancel within a week of camp.

KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTIES

What are the studio space options for a Kids Birthday Party?

You can do a party upstairs or downstairs.

Upstairs is a private party room with seating for 24 people. Perfect if you want to do food, gifts, cake and even decorate. Also, great if you want parents to stay or family to come. Choose from a variety of projects.  Deposit needed to hold the room for your date and time.

Downstairs would be more of a drop off party for a smaller group. Kids can choose projects from the walk-in wall. If you have more then 8 makers, then studio fees are $5 per person Friday-Sunday. You can do gifts downstairs but food and cake is not recommended. You do not have to make a reservation, however it is helpful if you will be taking up multiple tables. That way we can make them near each other.

What is the deposit for a Kids Party in the Private Party Room?

Typically the deposit is $220. That is based on a 3 hour party ($20/hour) which is most common with an 8 kid minimum ($20/kid). With 3 hours the chosen project takes between 1-1.5 hours, this leaves the rest of the time for food, gifts, and cake.

What if I do the Private Party Room but have more then 8 kids come?

We will contact you a few days before the party and ask for a current head count so that we can make sure to have have enough materials for your party. On the day of the party you would pay for any extra kids at the register after the party is over. ($20/kid)

How far in advance should I book a Kids Birthday Party?

Classes are put on the calendar 6+ weeks in advance and use the same room as the parties. If you want to have a certain date and time (without having to work around classes that might already be put on the calendar) then I would book your party 6-8 weeks in advance. Party slots for late Fall to early Spring typically fill up even faster.

Do you have time slots to choose from for a 3 hour Kids Birthday Party in the Private Party Room?

Yes to leave room for more then 1 party per day the time slots are 10am-1pm or 3pm-6pm

Downstairs/Large Group: If you have more then 24 people (up to 60 people), then you will need to rent out the entire downstairs. You can do gifts, food, cake etc. People can choose projects from the walk-in wall. Deposit of $60/hour is needed to hold your date and time. Host or guests will pay for projects chosen on the day of with no studio fees.

What is the deposit for an Adult Party in the Private Party Room?

The cost of the deposit is $20/hour which depends on how long the class is plus an extra 1-2 hours if you plan on doing food, gifts, cake etc + the class cost multiplied by the minimum number of participants for that class.

Example: a wood burning class is 2-3 hours (always rounded up) so $20 x 3 + $50 x 4 (class cost x minimum participants)

The deposit for this class would be $260

Who pays for the extra participants (not included in the deposit) for an Adult Party in the private party room?

We will contact you a few days prior to your party and ask for a current head count to make sure we have enough                              materials. On the day of the party the remaining participants will pay or be paid for at the register.
