Coiled Raffia Basket Weaving Class

Learn the technique of coiled basketry with a wrap stitch and contrasting edge. We’ll discuss a brief overview of raffia basket making and various materials used… and then it’s time to get to weaving! You will begin a 4”x4" accessories basket perfect for holding small potted plants or as a catchall on the coffee table. Its not likely you will finish your basket in class but you'll be shown how to feed material and finish a basket so that you can continue to make your basket at home.
